The Wandavision Mid-season Trailer Dropped Today, Along With A New Poster Featuring The Show’s Main Actors

The WandaVision mid-season trailer dropped today, along with a new poster featuring the show’s main actors. The trailer features some new visuals, but it seems some fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are concentrating more on the poster, which may very well poke fun at the villain Mephisto. For weeks, fans have been trying to uncover the mystery behind who the Disney + series villain might be, with more than a few believing that Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff could be the true villain. But is that the case?

Upon closer inspection of the new WandaVision poster, there is something else besides Wanda Maximoff, Vision, Monica Rambeau, Agnes, Darcy Lewis, and Jimmy Woo. Between Vision and Agnes, the wallpaper is remarkably visible and it looks like Mephisto’s face might be on it. Obviously unconfirmed, but the wallpaper has been shown before and this particular pattern was not present before. This could be a case of pareidolia in the wallpaper design, but it is suspect nonetheless.

The wallpaper could be an artist having fun with fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or it could be nothing. However, it has been rumored more than once that Mephisto could be the true villain of WandaVision. As is the case with most mysteries, the most obvious villains are generally not the true villains, which, at the very least, would rule out Wanda. During episode 4, when Darcy Lewis is reviewing Wanda’s reality footage, he is being manipulated and censored, leaving one wondering who could be behind it all.

Another quirky aspect of WandaVision Episode 4 was the mention of CBMR, also known as cosmic microwave background radiation. This particular radiation was present during the Big Bang, which created the universe, so how would Wanda have access to it when creating her reality? This is where Mephisto could come in. Did he make a deal with Wanda to bring Vision back to life? The villain can grant wishes, for a cost, in the comics, but is usually a soul. It’s quite possible that Mephisto is behind all of this, but is the MCU gearing up to introduce the Devil on Disney +?

Adding to Mephisto’s speculation are all the six-sided shapes, also known as hexagons, that even has Jimmy Woo baffled. Marvel Studios has created a modern mystery series within the MCU, which makes everyone try to guess what exactly is going on. It will be interesting to see what happens when this is all over. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has already said that WandaVision leads directly to Doctor Strange in the multiverse of insanity, so the stakes are high, though how high is still unclear at this point. You can see the WandaVision poster above, thanks to the Arrowverse Twitter account scene. Does Mephisto hide in it?
