The film stars John David Washington from Tenet and Zendaya from Dune. Washington and Zendaya already worked together on the HBO series Euphoria, whose production was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Malcolm & Marie was acquired by Netflix for $ 30 million. The script is written by Sam Levinson, who has also directed and produced the film. Washington plays the role of a film director who returns home after a premiere with his girlfriend, played by Zendaya. Once they get home, they begin to examine their relationship, but things will quickly go downhill from there.
Music is one of the characteristics of Sam Levinson’s Euphoria. So it would make sense for another Levinson project, this time a movie with Zendaya and John David Washington, to be accompanied by some great music.
