Robert Kraft will celebrate 30 years of owning the New England Patriots, one of the winningest teams in the National Football League (NFL), in early 2024. Over the last three decades, most NFL fans have heard about Kraft’s amazing success both on and off the field.
The Patriots have won six Super Bowl rings under his watch and have appeared in nine Super Bowl games since 1994. Before Kraft took over the Patriots, they had appeared in just one Super Bowl way back in 1986. Although they did not win, the Patriots made it to the 1997 Super Bowl just three seasons after Robert Kraft began turning a losing team into a winning dynasty.
Nike Announces the Company Will Make a Pair of Specialty Shoes for Kraft
The professional shoe company Nike has admired Kraft’s leadership and winning ways since at least 2014, if not earlier. Nike celebrates its 40th year of manufacturing athletic shoes in 2022, so company management felt it was only right to present Kraft with a pair of Nike Air Force 1 shoes.
Fans can find Kraft where they always see him on Sundays when an NFL game takes place inside of Gillette Stadium. His teammates and co-workers describe Kraft as strolling through the stadium on Sundays checking out his team’s performance and talking to fans in the stands.
Nike Names Air Force 1 Fly Knit Shoes After Robert Kraft
A spokesperson for the Nike Company has confirmed that the shoe brand named after Kraft has gone through prototyping and manufacturing but has not yet released the exact date the public can purchase the shoes. Nike has also not announced the starting price for the Air Force 1 Fly Knit shoes.
The colorway on the shoes named for Kraft highlights a navy blue fly knit upper, which differs considerably from leather materials Nike uses to manufacture its standard athletic shoes. A swoosh label, trademarked by Nike, appears as a red outline. The back heel of the shoes features the logo of the New England Patriots covering a patch of silver material.
Nike further honors Robert Kraft by placing the initials for Robert Kenneth Kraft (RKK) on the inside of the shoe’s tongue. People wearing the specialty shoes will also notice that the end of the shoelace bears six starts for the six Super Bowl wins of the New England Patriots and an image of the Vince Lombardi trophy.
With the 2022 holiday season just weeks away, consumers who want to buy these unique shoes are anxiously waiting for Nike to announce when the unique footwear will go on sale.
Serving the Community is Just as Important to Robert Kraft as Winning Football Games
Kraft may be a self-made millionaire today, but he has never forgotten his roots. He graduated from high school in Brookline, Massachusetts and immediately entered Columbia University in the early 1960s. While still a new student at Columbia, Kraft earned a Harvard Business School fellowship. Upon graduation from Harvard, Kraft launched his first packaging operating company in 1968. He was ready to diversify four years later once he understood the workings of a growing national economy.
Today, Kraft owns multiple business interests in numerous sectors, including sports and professional entertainment. The Kraft Group soon formed its own charitable branch to enable Robert and his late wife to donate to causes they cared about, including cancer research, higher education, women’s and children’s issues, and elimination of poverty around the world. Three of his four adult sons now work for the Kraft Group and help manage its charitable operations.Robert Kraft turned 81 years old in June 2022, but clearly age is just a number for him. He plans to remain on staff as a successful owner of the New England Patriots and continue to give back to the people and communities who mean so much to him for as long as he remains in good health.
